Maybelline BB Cream SPF50 x Smartson
Tested for a few weeks in different ways. Shade 30 initially looks yellower but fits okay for my neutral light facial skin, maybe a darker shade 🌞. Skin type: combination, acne-prone, sometimes fragrance-sensitive. Usually use separate SPF and CC Cream from Lumene which I like. This BB Cream feels like a moisturizing hybrid of skincare, SPF, and foundation. Rich texture, easy to blend evenly, but doesn’t fully cover my pimples. The finish is dewy and sticky – doesn’t fully dry. With powder it gets cakey in some areas, without powder the coverage melts away after a few hours. Scent: No perfume listed in ingredients, but I still notice a stronger scent (unfortunately in a stinging way) that irritates my eyes/nose and makes both run. Nice finish mainly on the cheeks, but doesn’t work as SPF for me over the whole face. Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Leave-In Treatment
This leave-in treatment was a big disappointment for me. The consistency is very light and thin, which initially felt positive, but unfortunately it gave no noticeable effect. I experienced no improvement in hydration or protection for my hair, despite regular use for over two weeks. On the contrary, my ends felt drier and more damaged than before, which was unexpected. The product didn’t seem to provide any nourishment or strength at all. It’s easy to apply and doesn’t weigh the hair down, but the result was completely absent. I have been using this shampoo for over two weeks and unfortunately am not satisfied with the results. Even though I followed the instructions, my hair doesn’t feel properly clean after washing. It lacks that fresh, clean feeling you expect from a shampoo, and my hair also gets greasy already the next day. The consistency is okay and it lathers as it should, but the effect doesn’t live up to expectations. The only positive thing I can say is that the scent is quite nice and fresh. I have now tested this conditioner for 14 days (about 7 washes). The consistency is very creamy and thick, and feels very nice to massage into the hair, but I find that I need to use a lot of product to cover my long hair. It also smells very good. The downside is that after showering and when the hair is dry, I find my ends dry, rough, and frizzy, and what has saved it is their "Leave-in treatment" in the same series. If you buy the whole series, it works well on my hair, but I wouldn’t buy just the conditioner. However, I have used the products for too short a time to be able to judge if it has strengthened my hair in the long run. I have to say that among very few leave-in balms, this one is one of the better ones, especially when combined with the shampoo and conditioner from the same series. It has a smooth consistency, is easy to distribute through the hair, and smells good but somewhat more neutral than, for example, the shampoo and conditioner. I have a lot of broken and damaged hair, and after using the full series, my hair feels fresher, less frizzy, and with less breakage. Redken surprises this time and climbs up the ladder with this new series, in my eyes and experience. The leave-in balm is economical to use, easy to apply, leaves the hair more moisturized while absorbing. 4 out of 6 on the rating scale. It lacks a bit of the luxurious scent or a bit more fragrance, and a slightly larger container would be desirable considering the price. It’s worth trying if you want to test the whole series; I’m unsure how good the balm is alone, without using shampoo and conditioner. Damaged hair often needs care during washing and in conditioner or treatment. After shampooing, apply and distribute in damp hair. Rinse out. If there is one thing I agree on, it is: 1) This is a luxurious conditioner that I think smells really good, you can feel that it is creamy soft when you have it in your palm and are about to apply it throughout the hair after shampoo. 2) You notice that it has worked with the hair while waiting to rinse out the conditioner, because when the water hits my hair, it feels very soft, smooth, and that it has been nourished during the conditioner’s working time! I left the conditioner in for almost 4 minutes. 3) I can understand that this series is good for those with bleached hair, as hair can quickly feel dead, stiff, and dry. I notice on my colored hair that THIS is a good caring series. I recommend this conditioner, of course together with shampoo for best effect and result! Yes, this shampoo costs a bit, but the consistency is thick and only a small amount is needed in the hand to lather over the entire hair, so it is economical and worth the price in the long run. I only need a small amount and apply it to different areas, then massage the shampoo up and it foams well in my hair. I have relatively 'damaged' hair from coloring, and my hair has gone through various phases over several years such as illness, stress, hair loss, and that I have regrown some hair. This shampoo smells good, like a hair salon, in my opinion. I need at most 2 rounds with the shampoo before I feel that it is clean and purified. It does not make my hair sticky, dry, or stiff, which cleansing shampoos often can do. The hair becomes smooth and ready for conditioner. This shampoo is probably one of the better quality shampoos I have used, and it does what it says: It repairs damaged hair, as long as you remember the conditioner in the same series. I am unsure if the effect would have been as good without the conditioner and leave-in balm hair treatment that I have tested via Smartson as a test pilot. Recommended and rating 5 out of 6. Silky soft conditioner with lots of shine and care
I have tested this conditioner along with the rest of the Redken Acidic Bonding series for over 2 weeks and am sharing my experiences. I have bleached hair that has gone from dark brown to blonde, and the hair has therefore been through several bleaching and highlighting sessions at the hairdresser, so I care about products that provide care, strength, and shine without weighing the hair down. The conditioner is truly the icing on the cake after the shampoo. It has a soft and rich texture and is easy to distribute evenly through the hair. I immediately notice that the hair becomes very smooth and manageable, and it’s easy to comb through without tangles. Even before rinsing it out, I see a beautiful shine. After rinsing, the hair feels silky soft, stronger, and less frizzy. It is also economical to use, which is a big plus. The scent is lovely – a mix of citrus and a sweet, candy-like note that lingers well in the hair. Had high expectations for this product. Appearance-wise, the product and container are luxurious and nice. Just the right size. The applicator itself is a bit tricky to work with, and the formula is creamy but a bit hard to get even. I felt that the color did not match on the lips/in the bottle. When I applied my tint, the lips became a different color that was very intense in terms of color. I would have preferred if the color was the same as in the bottle. The product dries slowly but doesn’t feel moisturizing. The lips mostly look matte and dry. No "plumping" effect either, in my opinion. 002 Maybe It’s… is a neutral-warm rusty brownish red on my neutral skin tone (a bit more red than pencil 05 On It). Pink-brown in some lights. I usually like slightly cooler lips – but this one is nice anyway and will probably suit many ♥️🤎 Soft, easy-to-apply formula with a matte finish, but not as moisturizing as I expected. Creamy and opaque at first, but dries down within about an hour and highlights some dry flakes. Scent: Vanilla caramel fudge (a bit annoying scent in my opinion) but disappears quickly. Durability: Okay. After about an hour (walk + water) mostly tint remains. Needs to be reapplied several times during the day to maintain creaminess. Nice packaging, with a small minus for the square cap that only fits in 1 of 4 angles (have to search). 05 On It turns into a rusty warm shade on me with a light neutral skin tone. Maybe a bit too warm for my taste, but I will still continue to use it since you can never have too many lip products to vary between 🤎💋. Easy-to-use pencil that was simple to get even with a slightly thicker tip, a lot of product is applied at once. Quite creamy, and a matte finish. Scent: No strong noticeable scent (a plus in my opinion!) After about 5 hours of wear-testing where I both ate food and drank quite a bit of water, unfortunately a lot has disappeared. So not very long-lasting in my opinion. Completely okay, but I wished for a bit better durability. I have through Smartson gotten the opportunity to try Redken Acidic grow Full System, this is my review. About me: Hairtype: Wavy fine, Low Hair Porosity (my hair has a mind of its own, i can not make my hair do anything it does not want to do) scalp: tendency to olilyness I recieved the package the 10 march. for those who wonder about smell; the products has a subtle mellow fresh scent and all the products are easy to apply. The system has Shampoo, Conditioner, Serum and Treatment. I was a bit confused at first about which one of the spray bottles are serum and which one is Treatment and wich one to use first after shampooing and conditioner. Turns out the largest spray bottle is Treatment and is to be used on the hair lengths and the smaller spray bottle is serum and is to be applied to the scalp. according to the Testpilot email from Smartson, serum (the larger bottle) goes first and then Treatment (the smaller bottle). I wish there were a bit clearer instruction on this on the bottles. Anyway, using the products I have noticed results: -the products are great for dealing with frizz, seriously!! -My hair became really soft and glossy -my hair truly feels clean -My hair grows faster than weed !! 😳 These products keep all their promises. I took before and after pictures though the lighting isn't the best and it does not do the results justice, my hair grow a shocking amount in a very short time 😲 conclusion: Would it recommend these products?
