Maybelline BB Cream SPF50 x Smartson
Tested for a few weeks in different ways. Shade 30 looks more yellow at first, but fits okay for my neutral light facial skin, maybe a shade darker 🌞. Skin type: combination and surface dry that can get a bit shinier towards the end of the day. Usually use separate SPF and CC Cream from Lumene which I like. This BB Cream feels like a moisturizing hybrid of skincare, SPF, and foundation. Rich texture, easy to blend, but doesn’t fully cover my pimples. The finish is nicely dewy but feels sticky – doesn’t fully dry. With a lot of powder it easily gets cakey in some areas, without powder the coverage melts away after a few hours, so it’s a balancing act. Scent: Don’t see perfume in the ingredient list, but I still experience a stronger scent (unfortunately in a stinging way). There’s also something in the product that irritates my eyes/nose if I have it close, so both run... Nice finish, but hard to use as SPF for me over the whole face (can’t have it near eyes/nose). I am so glad I clicked this home, it was really nothing I was going to buy, but since it was available in a smaller version and was so cheap, I wanted to try it. My skin is often dry, especially during the winter months. So my base needs to be moisturizing and not matte. I also need a product that can neutralize my redness in the skin. This bb cream is really super nice! It applies beautifully to the face and is easy to blend out, I think the best result with this is to use my fingers, then it melts in without leaving a film. 🤭 I am a bit shocked that a bb cream can provide so much coverage as it does, usually they give very little color, but this one covers my red areas nicely and feels like a day cream. You can build up the coverage if you want, but I’m fine with quite a little product. 🤭 Now that I am in Spain, I have used it a lot since it contains SPF and protects against the sun's harmful rays. I always have a dedicated SPF under my makeup to get the protection that is needed. ❤️ It gives a nice glow, sits well in the sun and heat, has a good price, works great as an everyday product, and is caring.
