Recently got asked what hair care I use, and I probably haven’t shown it that much ☺️ Have thin hair strands (Scandinavian) that I air dry wavy myself 💜〰️ Favorites I switch between: IN THE SHOWER * 𝓙𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓵𝓮 𝓑𝓮𝓪𝓾𝓽𝔂, 𝓢𝓬𝓪𝓵𝓹 𝓢𝓮𝓻𝓾𝓶 𝓕𝓸𝓻𝓶𝓾𝓵𝓪 – A warm amber-scented shampoo that cleans well and gives a bit of volume without drying out – big favorite 🤍 * 𝓚𝓲𝓷𝓭, 𝓢𝓬𝓪𝓵𝓹 𝓢𝓬𝓻𝓾𝓫 𝓜𝓪𝓼𝓴 – Honey-scented (plus a bit of citrus/flower) mask that makes hair super soft and shiny. Rich and nourishing, use when hair feels extra dry/frizzy 🍯 * 𝓢𝓬𝓪𝓵𝓹 𝓥𝓸𝓵𝓾𝓶𝓮 𝓑𝓸𝓸𝓼𝓽, 𝓢𝓬𝓪𝓵𝓹 𝓢𝓬𝓻𝓾𝓫 – for extra volume boost in the shower (mix with shampoo and conditioner) 💆🏻♀️ * 𝓟𝓾𝓻𝓮 𝓢𝓬𝓪𝓵𝓹 𝓒𝓵𝓮𝓪𝓷𝓼𝓮𝓻 – resets hair a few times a month to avoid product buildup – natural fall/volume comes back 🩵 * 𝓢𝓱𝓲𝓷𝔂 𝓢𝓮𝓻𝓾𝓶 – incredibly shiny and bouncy hair, with a “smooth feeling” that does flatten my waves a bit. Smells citrus-fresh salon. 🩶✨ * 𝓢𝓬𝓪𝓵𝓹 𝓢𝓮𝓻𝓾𝓶, 𝓢𝓬𝓪𝓵𝓹 𝓜𝓪𝓼𝓴 – At first I struggled with the strong herbal scent in the conditioner, but it’s okay now. Good moisture and shine without flattening waves + reduces frizz! 💜 OILS * 𝓛𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽 𝓞𝓲𝓵, 𝓟𝓪𝓼𝓼𝓲𝓸𝓷𝓯𝓻𝓾𝓲𝓽 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓜𝓸𝓻𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓪 – Light oil with e.g. passionfruit and moringa oil. Smells absolutely lovely luxurious citrus-herbal. 🍋 * 𝓑𝓾𝓭𝓰𝓮𝓽 𝓞𝓲𝓵 – My budget favorite, also feels light and smells very good, sweet and fresh! 💖 * 𝓢𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓷 𝓞𝓲𝓵 𝓜𝓲𝔁 – Contains 7 different oils, wonderful scent. Somewhat thicker/heavier (use a small pump) 💛 CARE / STYLING * 𝓐𝓿𝓸𝓬𝓪𝓭𝓸 𝓢𝓮𝓻𝓾𝓶 – Cares for and softens without silicones, with e.g. avocado and apple seed oil. Should smell like melon/cucumber, but I think sweet apple 🩷 * 𝓛𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽 𝓒𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓶 – Light cream that gives some definition/hold to waves, with some care at the same time, fresh unisex scent 🩵 * 𝓒𝓲𝓽𝓻𝓾𝓼 𝓜𝓲𝓼𝓽 – Very nice for bringing out more waves and air drying (cares at the same time) and smells citrus 💛 STYLING * 𝓟𝓻𝓲𝓬𝓮 𝓢𝓹𝓻𝓪𝔂 – Best tip I’ve found here 😊 Affordable, you use so little, incredibly effective! A few sprays and massage out. Only downside is hair can get static. Fresh neutral scent 🩵 * 𝓣𝓪𝓵𝓴-𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓮 𝓓𝓻𝔂 𝓢𝓱𝓪𝓶𝓹𝓸 – Talc-free dry shampoo with incredible scent!! Fresh grapefruit, fruity apricot, lily of the valley, vanilla & sandalwood 🧡🩷. Those perfect, shiny curls you sometimes see? Often, the hair is first straightened or blow-dried straight and then styled with a curling iron. That’s a different look – on different hair. When we style our naturally curly hair, we work with our natural texture. And there will always be a little frizz – more or less. Both results are beautiful! Don’t try to mimic how someone with straight hair tries to create curls. It won’t look the same – and we don’t want it to either. Work with your texture, not against it 💛 ⏳ 🚿 After a proper wash with shampoo and conditioner, I applied a curl cream to very wet hair directly in the shower. Then I let my hair rest in a microfiber towel for a while before applying a gel with strong hold. 👉 Many become hesitant when the gel dries stiff – but that’s exactly what we want! The stiffness encapsulates the curl pattern while the hair dries. When the hair is completely dry, you scrunch out the stiffness – and you’re left with defined curls with minimal frizz and nice hold. ⏳ My best tips when drying with a diffuser: 💨 Don’t touch the curls at first! Let the dryer circulate around the hair – we want the curls to set in their natural shape. 🔁 Tilt your head forward and backward, up and down, to create volume and get air at the roots. 🌀 When the gel starts to set, gently lift certain sections to better reach the scalp – without disturbing the curl pattern. ✋ When the hair is clearly stiff, start scrunching with your hands while drying. This releases the hard outer layer and builds volume at the same time. 🌬️ Dry completely dry – not 80 or 90%. It makes a big difference for both shape and durability. 💧 Finish with a light hair oil on the ends and lengths for shine and protection. ⏳ 👉 Tip!
