Old faithful friend for my abused hair!

💖 I got the product for free as a #LYKOINFLUTESTER. I got to test a series of skincare products from #REDKEN, whose products from different lines have contributed for many years to saving my heavily bleached hair. Acidic Bonding Shampoo is therefore not a new acquaintance for me, but a product I have used before and still use. I can't say if the shampoo does anything so fantastically better, but the crucial thing is that the shampoo really doesn't do anything worse. It cleans so well without causing any extra wear on the hair, which feels strengthened and soft. I'm never afraid that hair strands will break, not even right after a session with my 40 vol developer. Sometimes I slack off and just use shampoo and maybe conditioner, and at those times I always use Acidic Bonding, as it makes my hair feel and look good without a bunch of extra caring products. However, I can't use it more than once a week, otherwise my hair gets a bit heavy, but that's to be expected with both panthenol and dimethicone (which care, protect, and are good for most hair and have been demonized on incorrect/overdue grounds 🤔) high up in the ingredient list. Once I finally learned how often my hair needs the shampoo, the negative effect disappeared immediately. The shampoo lathers a lot with a little product, and doesn't dry out either my hair or my sensitive, often slightly red scalp. The scent is neutral/unisex and mild, and I find that it completely washes out during rinsing. The packaging is practical and designed to be stood up and down when the product starts to run out. The colors are a hit or miss, but I love both colorful and white and sleek, so I think this grayish minimalist design is super pretty. ⭐️ After both several years of use and this testing period, I can still warmly recommend Acidic Bonding shampoo to those with very damaged hair that doesn't get weighed down too easily. However, if you have extremely thin, fine, and flat hair, you should use it in moderation, or look for another product. But for me, this shampoo is perfect, and I will continue to buy it as long as I bleach my hair 🥰

    Shamefully bad

Shamefully bad I have thin bleached, fine hair that can easily feel and seem heavy. I also have thin hair strands, which makes it difficult to find a product that provides moisture but doesn't make it greasy. This is mild to say a disaster for my hair. After shampooing, my hair felt sticky, as if the product hadn't been rinsed out well enough, but it had. (girl, I promise...) The consistency is somewhat on the thicker side, with a luxurious scent that can feel heavy for many. On the first shampoo, it doesn't lather at all, (quite normal, as product residues are present) on the second it lathers very well, and the foam becomes thick and well distributed. I use about 1-2 teaspoons on my shoulder-length hair. After one day, my hair was so greasy that you would think I was back in puberty, only worse. It was shocking what had happened, I thought this was a coincidence, but it happened again the following day. Even dry shampoo gave up on my hair... After 1 week, I lost all hope and then gave the product to a friend. On her side, it was "fantastic!". The bottle is handy, as you can utilize 99% of all content by simply turning it upside down when you get close to the end. It comes with a flip-top lid, which is practical. Good to take with you on trips, as the bottle holds 300ml. Somewhat expensive shampoo, especially if you feel a bit "duped" if it crashes for you and your hair, on the other hand, I am glad I had the opportunity to test this for free :) This will probably suit you if you have a dry scalp, as well as bleached and chemically damaged/dry hair. Maybe it's gold for you! #LYKOINFLUTESTER #REDKEN #review

Hey Dina Thank you so much for a super and honest feedback! It's nice to hear about different experiences with a product, and it seems like you got something that wasn't a match for your hair. Glad you could pass it on, and that your friend liked it Wishing you a lovely pre-Christmas season 🎄

    Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo

I have been so lucky to test Redken's "Acidic Bonding Concentrate" line. And I must start by saying that this actually surprised me! Even though it is sulfate-free, it lathers really well – even without a pre-wash🫧 It emulsifies easily, even when the hair is dirty, and gives that clean feeling without stripping the hair completely. The consistency is nice and easy to work with, and I appreciate that the bottle is made from 96% recycled material ♻️. It contains 7% Bonding Care Complex, which is supposed to strengthen and protect your hair. I have fully bleached, damaged hair, and I notice that it gives a good start before the conditioner/mask. This line is recommended for those who have treated hair (bleached, heat-treated, etc.) Something I must mention, since the products contain AHA (alpha hydroxy acid), it states on the bottle that the product can increase the skin's sensitivity to the sun. So if you use this regularly, it is actually wise to protect the scalp 🧢 Another thing to know is that Redken's "Bonding Care Complex" line is a combination of acidic pH (citric acid) + caring/sealing ingredients. So you don't need to use shampoo + conditioner together to "activate" anything. They enhance each other in the line, but it's not like the shampoo is necessary to create the bonds to the conditioner, as you would do in e.g. plex products. All in all: a shampoo that does its job, smells good, and feels both gentle and effective at the same time. #LYKOINFLUTESTER #REDKEN

    Strengthening

First impression 🤩 The bottle feels luxurious and professional. Easy to grip with wet hands in the shower. The scent is fresh but discreet, which I like, and the consistency is super creamy without being heavy. Experience 🥰 What caught my attention right away is that the shampoo cleans deeply while also working to strengthen the hair's inner structure, making it feel more than just a "cleaning" shampoo. My hair type 👩🏼‍🦱 I have dry, damaged, bleached hair that is thick and wavy but with fine strands, a combination that easily becomes frizzy and hard to control. However, I quickly get oily hair at the roots. Result 👌🏻 After regular use, I notice that my hair feels stronger, more controlled, and with significantly less frizz. It feels clean but also soft, and I regain a sense of shine and, above all, strength that I have really missed. #lykoinflutester #redken

Gentle cleansing for fine hair 🙌🏻

I, as #lykoinflutester, have received this Acidic Bonding series from #redken to test for a few weeks. My hair consists of many ultra-thin strands that easily split and break. Finding the right shampoo is therefore very important for me. It cleanses the hair thoroughly but without feeling dry or rough. I've noticed that it almost sticks the strands together a bit in the shower, which at first felt unusual but actually gives a feeling that the hair is binding together and strengthening already during washing. 😀 When it comes to the ingredients, the shampoo contains citric acid, which balances pH and contributes to shinier hair with less frizz. There is also wheat protein and amino acids, which strengthen the hair's inner structure and make the thin strands feel more resilient. Afterwards, the hair feels clean and fresh, but not dry or flyaway. The scent is the same delicious candy-fresh 🍬 as the rest of the series, which makes the washing experience more enjoyable. The consistency is just the right thickness, lathers nicely, and is quite economical – even though I always wash twice, I don't need to use much product. Over time, I've noticed that the hair stays healthier between washes. It feels more balanced, and my thin strands are not as fragile. I see this shampoo as a good base that, together with the conditioner and mask, helps to build the hair step by step. ❤️‍🩹 👉 The shampoo cleanses gently without drying out, strengthens the hair in the long term, and prepares it for the extra care from the conditioner and mask.

    Totally okay

I have been so lucky to test 3 products from Redken's Acidic Bonding Concentrate line over a 3-week period. I have used this line before, back with shampoo and conditioner, as well as the leave-in cream. This was shortly after it hit the US market, so nice to have a refresh! A bit about my hair: - Nordic, fine hair strands but a lot of hair. - long and naturally wavy - slightly damaged ends and wear due to bleaching (highlights) - little volume on top without the help of styling products I have used the product about every other day during this period, with two rounds of shampoo each wash. The shampoo has a slight citrus scent, but not unpleasant. I find that it lathers well in the hair, and that it feels clean after washing. However, I do feel that my hair gets "greasy" faster between washes with this line, which is not surprising since there is a lot of intense moisture in the product. The product line is supposed to make the hair stronger, provide more moisture, and strengthen the hair, and whether it does that in the long run, I am unsure, as I think one must test the product over a longer period to see results. However, I feel that where the hair has no damage, it is shinier and looks healthier, but that the damaged ends need more care with this line to not become very dry. It’s not my favorite shampoo, but it’s not bad either. A middle-of-the-road shampoo that I will use up, but I will use it together with another shampoo I have. #LYKOINFLUTESTER #REDKEN

Good in the lengths, less good at the roots

This shampoo unfortunately did not work at all on my thin and fine hair. It is a very heavy and creamy formula that unfortunately feels very heavy to apply at the roots. The lengths feel good even though I wouldn't say they are particularly damaged beforehand. I get a similar experience as with the hair mask in the same series, which is that the hair feels fuller. Unfortunately, the roots feel very weighed down and greasy, and it feels like there are product residues left even though I have thoroughly rinsed out the shampoo. So I almost want to wash it again because of that. It may be that this shampoo works best on very damaged hair or thicker hair, but for me, it unfortunately did not work at all. Still glad to have it at home and be able to do a treatment in between, as the hair really feels fresh after use, especially in combination with the conditioner and hair mask in the same series. Then it may be that it doesn't need to be used as often as I have actually done, but for my hair type, maybe once a month or even less often is enough.😊 #lykoinflutester #redken

For you who truly appreciate a cleansing shampoo

Redken's Acidic Bonding Concentrate line has been on my hair product wish list for a long time, so it was lovely to get to test these! Shampoo: + Really economical, a small amount is typically enough for Redken, and the product lathers excellently. + Lovely luxurious salon-like scent + Good price-quality ratio + Really cleansing, hair feels truly clean and receptive after washing. + Does not tangle hair + Provides a good base for hair masks and conditioners + Final result feels like having had a hair wash at the salon I used the products actively for 3 weeks before this review. #LYKOINFLUTESTER #REDKEN

Pretty good, but not a favorite

I've now tested this along with the conditioner and hair mask that #lykoinflutester What I like best about the shampoo is that it smells really good, kind of fruity. Not too much, but enough that you feel your hair smells good even after a few days. I have colored/bleached, thick, and damaged hair. I feel this has helped prevent my hair from breaking, but whether it has done anything more than that, I don't know. I've been using it for about a month. I like the combination of the shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask! I feel fresh in my hair after use. The biggest downside for me is that I feel it contributes to making my hair greasy. I struggle with my hair getting greasy quickly, but even faster with this unfortunately. Maybe a better match if you don't struggle with greasy hair😊 But all in all, a pretty good shampoo that smells nice. #lykoinflutester #redken

Great shampoo that gets the job done!

As #lykoinflutester, I had the honor of testing this shampoo along with conditioner and hair mask. My hair is a bit on the drier side, highlighted, and quite thick with finer strands. This shampoo smells good and a bit fruity, I feel. When you step out of the shower, it smells like a salon! However, I have experienced a few times that my hair smells a bit sour a few days after washing. I don't know if it's the product, but I've never experienced this before, so I think it's worth mentioning. The shampoo is very concentrated as you don't need much to cover all the hair. I have a lot of hair, so a good lather is always appreciated! My hair feels fresh, easy to comb out after the combination of shampoo, mask, and conditioner from the same line. I can absolutely recommend this shampoo and could see myself buying it again! However, I did not feel that I lost fewer strands of hair from the product, and I have gotten a softer and more moisturizing feel from other shampoos, so a little minus for this and the potential smell after a few days. A big plus and a sign that the product is good is that my natural curls are showing up in the back, check out the pictures! 4/5 ⭐️ Picture 3 - before Picture 4 - after, styled Picture 5 - after, unstyled #redken

Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo 300 ml

My new favorite shampoo! I have thin Scandinavian blonde hair that is damaged because I bleached it and now I highlight it. My hair easily gets dry from shampoo but at the same time gets very oily quickly. When I brush my hair, I often see how it FALLS small strands of hair on the floor, and I have suffered a lot from split ends. I always double shampoo to get my scalp clean. I was surprised when I tried this shampoo because I have never experienced it lathering so much on the first shampooing, so that’s a plus! It has a very thick consistency, which I would say is positive because it lasts much longer. When I double shampoo, my hair tends to get very dry, but not with this shampoo. I find that my hair is much more stable, it feels clean longer and doesn’t get oily as quickly. My hair doesn’t get frizzy or flyaway, but it still has a little fluff and doesn’t get completely flat. There’s also not as much hair that falls out when I brush my hair. The line has a very fresh scent, smells almost like grapefruit, I would say. To summarize: 💦 Doesn’t dry out hair 💪 Strengthens hair 🍬 Smells good #lykoinflutester #redKEN

Good cleansing for tired hair! 🧖🏼‍♀️⭐️

I have tested this shampoo from #redken as #lykoinflutester along with Acidic Bonding Concentrate Conditioner and 5-Minute Mask ⭐️ I have bleached my hair with highlights for many years, and started last fall to dye my hair back to my natural hair color. My hair is therefore tired, breaks easily, and I am slowly but surely working on taking care of it and rebuilding my hair again. This shampoo is supposed to help with just that - repair the strength of the hair and protect it from bleaching 💆🏼‍♀️🧡 Washing my hair is very easy with this product. I usually wash once, sometimes twice if I have had a lot of products in while styling. The shampoo distributes easily, lathers well, and leaves my hair clean and fresh. My hair is easy to comb through even just using the shampoo! After using this series for a few weeks, my hair already feels stronger and breaks less after washing 😍 I have heard some get a dry scalp from this, and from someone who has never had issues with flaking and dryness, this has not caused any problems for me either. Also a plus for good packaging - nice to be able to turn the shampoo upside down to get the last bit out at the end too! I would say this series is absolutely worth the price if you want to rebuild your hair to become stronger and healthier. I will definitely continue with this, and I am excited to see the results over a longer period! What brings it down a bit for me is the scent, which is quite strong citrusy, but it is absolutely manageable for the effect.
