Bought Essie's calendar last year and was so disappointed, so I want to leave a review for everyone considering buying this year! π βοΈ Positives: - Fun with 9 full-size and that they are mixed between gel and regular. - Good price. - Also think the smaller nail polishes are a good size, not too small. βοΈ Negatives: - This was the same as last year when I bought it, but wow, such boring colors! π Simple New Year's Nails π
It's been a while since I did a nail look, but I felt it was time. A little tip for simple and discreet yet still festive nails for New Year's. Important not to skimp on the base work. I've done the following: π Thorough cleaning with Depend 7days cleanser. π Base coat from the same series. π Two layers of "Spagetti strap" from Essie. π White tips with the help of "Pure White" from Depend 7days. (This step can be skipped, I mostly thought it would give a deeper effect) π Then you dab on a glitter polish, I chose silver glitter from Essie, no. 278. π Then top it off with a top coat, I use Depend 7days from Depend. Iβve done my second attempt with Gel iQ. I probably need to refine the technique a bit since there was a small air bubble on some nails and I should be more careful at the edges. Otherwise, I have to say that I am very satisfied with these gel polishes. I bought this lovely polish in the shade Feeling Lucky a little while ago! It has a light green shimmering base with green glitter particles in it, and regarding the color discrepancy, I got exactly what I expected. I painted one coat half in a rush, and it was nice that you didn't have to be overly careful with this polish. Comfortable brush. I didn't manage to put on any top coat, and now three days later, it has only started to wear off at most a millimeter at the top of the nail. I consider that good! The polish also dried really fast, another star in the corner for that. And it's a decent bottle you get for your money, though I actually prefer smaller bottles because I will never finish this one π I'm torn between giving it 4 and 5 stars. I made this little order last week. It was supposed to arrive on Sunday, but Instabox misplaced the package for a couple of days, could have been worse though π It's nail polish from ByLyko in a couple of colors that I've been eyeing for quite a while, as well as a top coat and a nail hardener from Essence. Two different pink hair colors from Directions, I've tested both before π©· And the whole order was actually because I wanted the pen from the Essence series Meta Glow π I have one of the other colors and I like it.
