DIY: Brad Mondo's Sabrina Carpenter Cut
Here I show how I did it when I cut my hair and go through the different steps. You can of course also see Brad Mondo's original tutorial (search for Brad Mondo and Sabrina Carpenter), especially if you want to cut shorter curtain bangs, because I skipped that this time (it was nerve-wracking enough anywayš ) I have cut my hair following his tutorial ābutterfly cutā for the past year/years, but now it was time for something new! More layered! š«£šš It should be noted that I have very thick hair, so if you do this yourself (at your own risk of course ā¤ļøš), the hair may feel thinner than it looks on me afterwards (if you have thinner hair). Are you afraid to cut it yourself? As long as you BRUSH thoroughly (have very wet hair or very carefully straightened, dry hair), place the ponytails where you want them and donāt stretch the hair in the wrong angles, itās as good as foolproof š¤ (but again: at your own risk. Sometimes you have time, sometimes you donāt. In the latter case, this styling with the Dyson airwrap (or equivalent) is a super quick way to make it look like youāve styled and fixed it as if there was time in abundance š¤ Of course, you can do this more thoroughly, and I recommend some type of finishing spray for better hold. To improve hold, you can also benefit from some type of wet heat protectant that also gives structure before you get started. "Beat the heat" from #bylyko has light hold, and Techni Art PLI from #lorealprofessionel is a favorite for more hold. The favorite for an easy sleek look š
Yes, you can see for yourself that it is well-used; the pomade stick from R&CO āØ Sometimes I make a sleek ponytail according to all the rules of art with mousse or gel that I comb into my hair when I put up the ponytail. Sometimes I realize afterwards that I want it to have a more sleek look or simply donāt want to pull so many products into my hair at that moment, and then this stick is fantastic for "gluing" the hair to the head. Styling without seeing
I pampered myself with the fine hair mask from Shu Uemura yesterday. The vacation hair really soaked it up and felt much softer and fuller afterwards ā¤ļø While I was waiting for time to pass so I could meet up with the girls, I sat on the couch watching Dexter and curling my hair with the airwrap. Sometimes Iām super organized and section my hair with hair clips when I curl, and sometimes I donāt even see what Iām doing, like yesterday š But it rarely turns out worse in the end, rather more lively. Three minutes. Iām not joking. And if you have thinner and shorter hair, youāre down to half the time! š¤ Now Iāve finally taken the time to film my BEST and FASTEST hack for the Dyson Airwrap (or similar product) and share it with you! Iām home and sick, and sometimes itās boredom thatās needed to get yourself together š This can be done as carefully as you want, but I want to show how little is required and how easy it is, and how nice it turns out, just by doing it a little "by feel" šI start with completely dry hair where Iāve then sprayed the lower half/third with a little water and then with Beat the heat by Lyko. Beat the heat provides heat protection but actually also a little hold. Itās also the product that makes the hair not grab QUITE as easily as it otherwise would in the video, so you have to help it a bit along the way. I start from the top and place a curl at the very top of the barrel. Then I fill from the bottom by wrapping new sections around while slowly pulling the airwrap down. I continue all the way to the nape and then do the same on the other side. I spray with a little texturizing spray and then itās done. New combo for the curls
Tried a new combination for my hair yesterday. My regular mousse is out, and I got the wrong mousse, which I was allowed to keep (Thanks! ā¤ļø) and I tested it with a new gel since my regular one from Living proof is almost out. The mousse is a fiber mousse with 4 out of 5 in āholdā. I donāt know if it reacted that way with the gel, but I find the result to be a bit less durable and less bounce in the curls. Sleek look without sticky wax on my hands and spray that only lets the baby hairs on my forehead pop up? Yes, it works! If I want a really shiny look that will hold for a night out at the club or a dance show, I gladly use āhardcore waxā and brush it thoroughly into my hair, but if I'm going to work and want a more everyday look thatās quick, the R+Co Dart pomade stick is wonderful! Here Iāve brushed my hair back and put it up (dry) and then pulled with the stick from the front and back. Then I used the āFly away tamerā from Bjƶrk, which is like a mascara brush with a formula thatās a mix between a thinner gel and hairspray, and brushed at the hairline to further tame the baby hairs. After that, I sprayed a bit of finishing spray from R+Co, and more than that isnāt needed. The hair isnāt hard, but the hairstyle is still durable. Taming requires a bit more than just the surface with the brush but is easy to brush out so it doesnāt make the hair dirty. I can also use it sometimes when I have a regular ponytail or as gel. Me in the middle of October: āIām not going to engage that much in Halloween this yearā Also me, but on Halloween: ā¦š»š This year it turned into some kind of medusa/snake hybrid, and it was definitely great to nerd out on things for it too! š FACE I started by applying eyeshadow primer #urbandecay on the areas I wanted to paint āscales.ā Then I took a pair of fishnet tights and pulled them over my head and dabbed eyeshadow on the areas I wanted scales on. I was lucky to find the last green palette from #elf (one shadow was broken so that was probably the reason it was left) and it was PERFECT for this. After I took off the tights, I powdered with #nyx HD powder, which goes on translucent, and then settingspray #urbandecay. Then I went in with #isadora matte primer and #lumene blur foundation where it was missing. Another round with nyx hd powder and settingspray. EYES The eyes got the same base with eye primer and the shadows from elf. A black shadow from #thebalm added some depth and smoke. I used gray kajal #loreal both around the lash lines and brows. A trick I came up with when I forgot kajal once was to use the mascara, take a bit of it on a brush, or the back of a knife, which was the solution back then š and paint/stamp. Since the #bbia mascara is the most waterproof I know, I also drew a line of it along each lash line and used it with the mascara brush for the lashes. A couple of red lenses from a local store. HAIR I prepped my hair with mousse and put it up in a ponytail with parts of my hair on top of my head. Then I wrapped strands around the snakes and secured the strands with pins. I sprayed everything with #rco finish spray. The snakes were black but painted with nail polish and acrylic paint. NAILS I painted a black base and painted the threads on plackers and āstampedā the other colors a bit here and there. I used some random brands. The top coat is from #sechevite. FRAGRANCE #ysl Opium Nice and tidy at home after the āextra everything makeupā š Last photo with white over the eyes (I spare you my eyes that are red from both lenses and the fact that itās around 5 AM. Do you see what insane durability the makeup had?! 12 hours of makeup, five of which were at a party and five at the bar. It was definitely a good idea to use the eyeshadow primer even under the pattern. The pattern canāt really be improved once itās set, so Iām pleasantly surprised. š¤ #halloween24

Saturday's three tips!
The autumn sun is shining and it's time for fika in the city! Here are tips on three products that I hold high in the hair and makeup world! āļø If the hair is going to be washed later the same day, I use "regular" wax for a sleek look. It holds best, and Iām not going to sleep with it anyway, so it wonāt dirty the pillow. If Iām going to wash my hair like tomorrow (like today š), I go for a slightly lighter hold and use Dart (wax stick) from R&Co and TƤmja from Bjƶrk. Dart is a relatively light wax that works well when you want to quickly fix a "sleek look" on slightly larger areas. You drag the stick over the hair and get shine and hold. I then complement it to tame the smallest and most stubborn, movable strands with TƤmja, which is a gel with a "mascara applicator". TƤmja does quite well on its own, but when itās large areas, it takes a lot of product, hence the combination with the Dart stick. You can also lightly spray with finishing spray, but I skipped that today! š¤ The third love is my new shade of Boss gloss from By Lyko š I love the light pink shade that is visible but discreet. I have Pinkosaurus from before, which is a bit darker, and I like the feel, consistency, and durability. The only downside is that the applicator is a bit small.
