- The post was made 1 weekI'll start by saying that I had and still have high hopes for this peeling, but... from the beginning! 🙈 I bought it because I heard a lot of good things about SKIN1004 products, especially cosmetics with centella. So I was counting on this little guy to be a bullseye too! 🌿 As always, before I started peeling, I thoroughly removed my makeup and all the impurities from the whole day. As you can see in the video, I’m opening the package for the first time, so all my reactions are completely genuine. The consistency reminds me of another gel, which you can already find my review of, the peeling from SUNEWMED+. It’s gel-like, and the product has a veeeery pleasant scent! 🍋🌿 It reminds me of tea, lemon, and a fresh, clean aroma. First impression? Very positive! I used it according to the instructions, meaning I applied the peeling on clean and dry skin. And here I have to admit, I was really satisfied at first! I saw that during the massage, a lot of characteristic “balls” appeared, which we associate with skin exfoliation. And that’s exactly when the BUT appeared... On both sides of my chin, in two specific spots, I noticed something strange. In the video, you can clearly see the moment I discover it. I rinsed off the peeling and felt that those skin areas felt different to the touch. Something just didn’t feel right. When I gently ran my nail over one of those spots, the skin started to peel off. And honestly? I didn’t know what to think about it. I tried once more to gently massage those areas with the same goal, but it didn’t bring any change. The skin still felt strange to the touch. So I reached for the Beauty of Joseon peeling, which I usually use. I gently exfoliated those spots and then washed my face with a cleansing gel because I started wondering if maybe I hadn’t cleaned thoroughly enough earlier. But my daily routine usually doesn’t include full makeup; I don’t use foundation, powder, or concealer. I usually reach for blush or highlighter, and I apply those on completely different parts of my face. In the end, I applied CeraVe, and the skin started to look normal. Importantly, the next day there was no trace of the situation. There was no redness, and those spots no longer felt strange to the touch. What actually happened? I have no idea. 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t want to immediately blame the product because a single situation doesn’t give me grounds to definitively say what the cause was. At the same time, I don’t want to pretend nothing happened. For now, I’ll take a break from exfoliating and observe my skin before deciding to test this product again. This only strengthens my conviction that I need to properly test this peeling before giving it a final opinion! I had high expectations, and the first impressions were really promising. We’ll see what happens next. 🌿 And remember, if you experience unusual exfoliation or irritation while using a cosmetic product, don’t try to force the effect with another peeling. It’s better to pause exfoliation and give your skin some rest. 🤍 And then it was time for a mask from L’Oréal! ✨ Here’s a definitely calmer story. 😂 I quite liked the mask! Huge plus for not having to wait three or four hours because about 1.5 hours is enough for the skin to look really nice. After using it, I noticed a nice glow, and the skin was slightly tight, but it wasn’t an unpleasant feeling of tightness. Tried quite a bit in store, but this is the first product I’ve bought. Oils from grape/avocado/olive. Extracts from grape, shea butter, etc. Refreshing tangy scent of grape leaves and a thick rich cream for the slightly dry autumn hands 🍇🍃 * , clean beauty brand within k-beauty, why doesn’t LYKO sell it?? 😍 – Interesting serum with lots of antioxidants from idebenone and blackberry/acai/blueberry that protects against free radicals (e.g. UV/blue light/environmental pollution). Fragrance-free, mild natural scent – feels lovely! 🫐✨ * – A bit sharp and strong, but very carefully for a very short time it was nice – difference in the skin the morning after, smoother surface and more glow. The strongest acid glycolic acid (AHA), lactobionic acid (PHA), papaya enzyme and microcrystals. The post was made 3 monthsRating: 4 out of 5Perfect for mature skinMaria Åkerberg’s Papaya Peeling is very good, also for those of us who aren’t so fond of scrubs with grains. Usually, I react to those, but not to this one. I have dry skin with some oil in the T-zone. I have reached menopause and want to use peeling regularly to avoid looking dull. I have light Nordic skin. The grains dissolved quickly and the oil remained on the skin. As recommended, I applied a good night cream on top. I had no reaction, and my skin became soft, smooth, and regained its glow. But I would be a bit cautious if I had very sensitive skin. The product contains essential oils, which can irritate the skin, and some allergens. It also contains oils and fats that can clog your pores if you have oily skin and acne. You should be careful when opening the tube and hold it upside down. Otherwise, the product will run out. Don’t shake the tube, as that will destroy the grains. I don’t find the scent particularly pleasant, maybe because I perceived the papaya scent as stronger than the essential oils. The scent can remind some of us of vomit, as the natural butter acid in papaya can give a slightly sour smell, and the enzyme in papaya – papain – resembles a digestive enzyme we have in our stomach. Others will like the scent well. They will mainly notice the citrus and lavender scents. But it doesn’t matter much that the scent is a bit unpleasant, as the product suited me very well. The enzyme papain is the actual peeling, and I have to accept that. Maria Åkerberg’s Papaya Peeling was part of a By LYKO Lovables inspo-kit and will be repurchased!
