Freshen up the curls day two
Yesterday I posted my entire styling routine and I think you can join in on today's refresh of what we did yesterday! 🤩 The post from yesterday is among my “looks” on my profile here on Lyko social if you're curious. Besides the products used today, I also had heat protection and a little spray yesterday. Sometimes I freshen up the curls with just mousse and sometimes it becomes a whole procedure with lots of water, mousse, gelée, etc., it depends on what condition the hair is in and what I used before. I usually don’t need to do much more than what I do today when I’ve had these products, they are great! That's why I want stiff curls. First 😊
For me with a slightly weaker curl pattern (2 a-c) it's gold when the mousse and gel give a stiff surface to the curls as they dry! Why then? Well, it's not because I want them to stay hard, but because when I scrunch out the hard, the curls will hold their pattern better since they previously set in this pattern 🤩 In the video, I show how I do it when I scrunch out the hard from the curls along with a bit of hair oil. "The wet look" disappears, the hair gets more volume, and the curls become bigger and softer. I should really START by filming a video of my routine when I handle my hair from the wash and up to HERE, but I always stand in the shower when I think of it (And naked videos are not something I deal with 😅), but one day I will prep and fix it so I can show how I do 😘💕 #umbertogiannini #kerastase #curlyhair #curlygirl #lockar #vågor #wavyhair #beachhair

Summer Smokey Eye
After a summer of “light and fresh” makeup, I felt like doing my makeup properly yesterday and went all out with a smokey eye. A pretty soft, brown/gold makeup look with the two VERY affordable palettes and the best primer in the world for us with slightly damp eyelids who can only use really good stuff if the shadows are going to stick! Mousse for beach waves 🌊
I'm going to work 👮🏼 and my hair is going to be put up, but for now, it has a bit of a wet look ☺️ I didn't feel like blow-drying it or drying the curls, so today I tried to scrunch in Umberto Giannini's mousse into the lower half of my hair and will let my hair air dry. The idea is that it should be easy to get the hair flat against my head while the ponytail gets a bit of life and structure from the waves/curls.. So far, it feels nice! They get a bit hard at first, but when the curls are completely dry, I scrunch them with my hands and they become soft while still holding their shape. I don't have any oil to scrunch them out with today, but I sprayed in a bit of shine spray so they keep their luster. I'm also putting in the products for the makeup base, I can't fit in more! Doesn't putting it up ruin the curls?
It hurts a little in the soul to put the hair up when you have a good hair day and get cute curls around the face… but does putting the hair up really ruin the curls? I've come to the conclusion that the answer is “njae” 🙂 because it really depends on which products I use. I have products that make the curls give up and look like I've been out at the bar all night, already on day two, but I showed in the last post how my hair looked when I used these products and slept one and two nights with my hair in a ponytail on top of my head (big scrunchy or similar), and today I trained, so I’m making sure to show how my hair looked before training, the ponytail under 1 hour of cross trainer + stretching and finally how my hair looked when I let it down after the shower. (In the shower, I clamped the ponytail with a clip on my head so it wouldn’t get wet. Of course, there is SOME change when you put the ponytail up, but I am very surprised (and impressed) by how the hair with these products returns to the waves when it is let down again. The products really boost the structure of the curls, and as long as it doesn’t get wet, the pattern seems to stay. 1st test with Umberto Giannini's products
I have tested some budget brands to enhance my curls/waves, but the ones I tried haven't really lived up to expectations. Now I ordered the mousse and gel from Umberto Giannini, and the price is definitely appealing. I read that Cantus leave-in conditioner is supposed to be quite heavy, so I used it as a mix of conditioner and leave-in, meaning I didn't rinse everything out, so product was still left in my hair when I scrunched in the mousse and then the gel. I also sprayed in heat protection since it doesn't seem to be in any of the other products. Then I went over my hair with the diffuser and let the last part dry on its own. The fact is that the pictures are actually from day TVÅ. So I have slept with my hair in a loose bun on top of my head, and the only thing I did today was scrunch out the “crunchet” from the gel with a bit of hair oil (don't be afraid that the curls will be stiff from the gel, you just have to scrunch it out later. Crunchet is your friend if you, like me, don't have such strong curls 🙌🏼💕) I am impressed! I might just be having a really good hair day, but it could also be that there's a reason you hear about the products! It looks promising, and I will return with a review when I have tested it more times!
